We at NAIRO want to express our concern for everyone impacted by coronavirus. Based on active and close monitoring of ongoing developments related to the COVID-19 virus, NAIRO’s Annual Symposium, due to be held September 22-24, will now be held April 13-15, 2021.

Our top priority is to provide a safe environment for everyone involved, while continuing to provide a valuable experience to our wonderful community. This was a difficult decision for our organization, but ultimately, we believe the safety and well-being of our members, presenters, exhibitors, attendees and staff must come first. Furthermore, we want to be respectful to anyone who would not be able to attend the Symposium due to travel restrictions.

Next Steps

If you have already registered for the Symposium, we will automatically apply your registration to the new Symposium date in September. If you are no longer able to attend, please contact Laura Lyman, NAIRO Administrator ([email protected] or [email protected], 518-313-0555) to cancel your registration. Please notify us of the change by September 30, 2020.

Please note: refunds of paid registrations will not be issued, however any cancelled paid registrations are eligible to receive a voucher of equal value that may be applied to registration for NAIRO’s 2022 Symposium.

The Symposium location will remain at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. If you have an existing overnight room reservation at the resort, the resort’s reservations manager will be canceling the reservation and issuing you a refund.

Please note that you will need to book a new reservation for April 2021. New reservations can be made by calling (800) 654-2924 and referencing the NAIRO Annual Symposium and/or the group booking number 16740. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact Laura Lyman in the NAIRO main office.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging time and look forward to bringing our community together in September.

Ed Bolton, President
National Association of Independent Review Organizations

Each year, NAIRO and its member companies stage an annual Symposium discussing the latest developments and trends in independent medical review. The Symposium delivers in-depth educational content, along with networking opportunities to meet and exchange ideas with others in the industry.

For 2021, the Symposium moves to the beautiful Kiawah Island Golf Resort on Kiawah Island, South Carolina, April 13th-15th. The theme for the three-day event is “Protecting Review Integrity During Healthcare and Regulatory Evolution,” highlighting changes in healthcare and the regulatory environment and the impact on IROs, Workers’ Compensation Organizations and Health Utilization Management Organizations.

Please stay tuned for updates to the agenda and other important information.
