 Over the past 8 years, I have been privileged to be able to attend each of the Annual NAIRO Symposiums and Webinars. The quality of topics and speakers is highly relevant to the IRO, HUM, and WCUM industries and addresses the current state of affairs affecting each of these types of companies. NAIRO is highly involved with both federal and state legislative actions and brings these topics to the attention of our membership so that all IROs and UM companies are aware of pending changes that could significantly impact the organizations. NAIRO is also proactive in working with the primary accrediting body for the clinical review industry, URAC. Each year, URAC attends and provides presenters addressing upcoming changes to standards and revisions that also may impact the industry and our member companies’ accreditations. It is for this reason that I encourage my leadership team to attend the NAIRO Symposium and webinars. Each year we send 4-6 team members to NAIRO events so they can benefit from exposure to the latest news and information in our industry. I know they come back from these events more able to effectively navigate our industry, accreditations, and regulatory environments. There is no other event that so specifically addresses the concerns and business of the IRO and UM market and so thoroughly prepares my employees to succeed in it.
